I’ve started to write for some of the web content-mill sites, such as Suite 101 and eHow. There are a lot of them out there, but they vary a lot in their standards and how their standards are applied. For the content mills, it’s all about making money and getting people to visit the pages. For me, it’s more for the fun of writing than for the income.
Income is gained when visitors go to one of your articles and are tempted to click on one of the Google ads that also appear on the page. So far I have around 13 articles written over the course of a month and I’ve earned about 2 dollars. Even with frugality I doubt we’ll get by on that. There is a writer on one of the sites that earned $5000 in a month a little while back but she is prolific and I think that would be unusual for even her to keep up. But it is fun. I’ll be putting links to the articles on this page in case anyone feels the urge to wander over.
